It is no different in this regard from Ian McEwan's novel 'Nutshell', which imagines Hamlet as a baby in the womb. If highly ahistorical casting, sets, language and costumes were employed in a play purporting to be historical drama, then I would take a very different view because that would be to create nonsense! This, though, sounds like a valid reimagining of 'Much Ado About Nothing.' What is this old tripe I'm reading, why can't black actors play these rolls? Do people ever think that if Bill Shakespeare were alive he would complain about who played the part!! I am sick to my back teeth of all this RACISM talk and why is George Floyd brought into the argument?? The man was Killed unlawfully and his murderers brought to justice.
